Make coming home a brighter and safer experience with this starter Activehome kit that lets you schedule lights and appliances to turn on or off at certain times of the day. The X10 Activehome Computer Interface Kit is an excellent entry-level system for anyone who wants to get started with timer-based lighting and appliance control. The Activehome system is also widely supported by third-party programs. You'll be able to set up schedules directly on your PC, yet the settings are stored on a plug-in module, so you won't have to keep your PC running to activate timed functions. The Activehome module is backed up by two AAA batteries (sold separately). Note: Software must be downloaded from our website.

You'll be able to set up schedules directly on your PC, yet the settings are stored on a plug-in module, so you won't have to keep your PC running to activate timed functions. The X10 Activehome module's battery backup assures that your setup won't go on the blitz due to a power outage. You can even program timed lighting functions on your home PC, stick the batteries in the module and take it to your vacation home to give it the appearance of being occupied when you're not there.
The Activehome module plugs into the serial port of any PC running Windows 3.1/95/98/ME/2000 (and Windows XP with the downloadable driver from this page). The socket on the front of the unit is an unswitched pass-through power outlet for the power cord of the PC. CD-ROM drive required. A free software download is available from X10Pro.
