Essential Info

Don't let Sick Building Syndrome hinder the health or well-being of you or your family. Protect your household from hazardous chemical gases with this air quality monitor that alerts you when harmful levels of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are detected.

Continuously Searches for Harmful Gases
Just plug the Air Quality Monitor into any electrical outlet, and it will continuously sample the air and search for gases containing acetone, which commonly cause eye, nose throat irritation, headaches, loss of coordination, nausea and damage to liver, kidney and central nervous systems. Some gases are even known to cause cancer in animals and are suspected of causing cancer in humans. Potential sources for VOCs include paints, cigarette smoke, pesticides, personal care products, household cleansers, cooking fuels and pet dander. When the air quality level falls below a pre-set level, this Air Quality Monitor alarm will sound, giving you an instant alert to a potentially dangerous situation.

Graphical Display Shows You VOC Levels
This health-preserving device is equipped with a graphical display, allowing you to quickly and easily read the levels of VOCs detected. Health experts recommend putting an Air Quality Monitor on every floor in your home, or in bedrooms of those who are especially sensitive to toxins, like infants or individuals with frail health.

Adjustable Sensitivity
The air quality monitor comes pre-set for medium sensitivity, however it can be adjusted to be more or less sensitive depending on your specific needs and lifestyles. For example, you may want to put it on the high sensitivity level in a baby's bedroom, or on the low sensitivity mode when enjoying a wood fire in the fireplace. You can also adjust the sampling interval rates. Other features include a backlight for easy viewing and an indoor thermometer with humidity percentage readings.

Dimensions: 3.75" x 1.75" x 6.25". Includes AC adapter.

If you are looking for a sensitive instrument this is not it. It has 8 levels of sensitivity shown on a bar graph. Imagine display with the numbers 1 thorugh 9 and alwasy displaying one of those numbers. This one-digit-of-precision was a bit of a letdown. It is possible that your nose will smell a problem before this meter detects it. If you have a problem with a sense of smell and/or need an alarm for special conditions, this would be a good choice. However if you need a little more precision you will probably need to look for a different product.
