Fill your entire home with personalized mood lighting for any occasion. INSTEON 6 Button Keypad Controller with On/Off Switch is more than a local controller. You can use this 6-button controller to monitor and control five different devices or sets of devices in and around your home. You can even use KeypadLinc as a central monitoring and controlling device: Install one by your front door and link up to five individual lights or groups of lights, and you'll be able to see the on/off status of each light by looking at the keypad. If you forgot to turn off your bedroom light on your way out in the morning, you could simply press the corresponding keypad button to turn it off without having to run all the way back to the bedroom.

Need to control more lights from this location? You can easily change this 6-button KeypadLinc to an 8-button keypad using the White 8 Button Change Kit for KeypadLinc. You can also change colors when you redecorate using these kits, also available in Ivory, Almond, Black, Brown, and Gray.

You can also install a KeypadLinc in the bedroom to see if the kids have gotten up in the middle of the night. Each KeypadLinc button can perform up to four different functions, such as on, off, brighten, and dim. For the ultimate in elegance, custom laser-etched 4 small, 2 large keypad button sets are available. You can save by purchasing your KeypadLinc plus etched buttons together in an 8-button configuration or 6-button configuration.

INSTEON 6 Button Keypad Controller with On/Off Switch allows you to include fluorescent or non-dimmable lights, fans, and other appliances in your INSTEON network. KeypadLinc is made to run silently no matter what kind of device you connect to it. KeypadLinc functions only as an on/off switch for local load, but allows On/Off Bright/Dim control to linked INSTEON dimmers. If you need to control incandescent bulbs, low-voltage halogen (e.g. track), and other low-voltage lights with magnetic or dimmable electronic transformers, try connecting it to the INSTEON KeypadLinc Dimmer.

How many times have you jumped into bed and forgotten to turn the lights off? With INSTEON 6 Button Keypad Controller with On/Off Switch you have the convenience of built-in status LEDs so you can see which light has been left on. Then by adding a bedside ControLinc, you can turn off those lights without getting out of bed. Never come home to a dark house again: Install INSTEON HouseLinc Desktop Software on your computer to schedule any KeypadLinc or any other INSTEON-compatible device to turn on or off at any specific time or even at sunrise and sunset.

Easy To Install
INSTEON 6 Button Keypad Controller with On/Off Switch is easy to install and set up and yet so affordable, you'll be able to replace many of your switches with KeypadLinc. Just remove the old switch, reattach the line, load, and ground wires with the addition of the neutral wire using the included wire nuts, and you're done. If this is your first INSTEON installation, the best way to ensure you have everything needed to provide the most reliable communication among devices is to buy the complete INSTEON Keypad Dimmer Scene Lighting Starter Kit, which includes everything required to set up your INSTEON network, including two SwitchLinc Dimmers, a pair of INSTEON Access Points to ensure INSTEON network reliability, and KeypadLinc Dimmer.

Scene Lighting
Scenes allow you to control multiple lights with one button. You can save and control up to five different individual lights, multi-light scenes, or even your whole home. Because KeypadLinc can be a member of more than 400 scenes (i.e. "Movie Time," "Party," "Romance," etc.), you'll be able to launch various lighting scenarios with a press of one of the keypad buttons. These are elegant features usually found only in systems costing tens of thousands of dollars and requiring extensive rewiring of your home. All remotely controlled lights can ramp to your independently desired brightness levels at your chosen ramp rates, so one set of lights can dim slowly while another set turns off instantly, all controlled with one command from one button.

Monitor Other Devices
The buttons on INSTEON 6 Button Keypad Controller with On/Off Switch illuminate when ON signals are sent and when signals are detected from other INSTEON devices linked to KeypadLinc. This allows the KeypadLinc to monitor lights in other rooms, which is incredibly useful if you want to control lights that aren't easily seen from the location, like those in bedrooms, bathrooms, basements, garages, attics, etc.

Flexible Setup
The KeypadLinc gives you tremendous flexibility with controlling your lighting system. Other wall-mounted keypads only provide on/off control of all devices, however; KeypadLinc button can perform up to four different functions. Press a button once for ON; press again for OFF. Press and hold to brighten, press and hold again to dim. If you prefer, turn off the toggle feature to send the same command every time. This is a helpful feature when programming an "all on" command button to press when you get home or "all off" command button to press when you leave for the day.

Make it Portable
Mount this keypad in a Tabletop Enclosure, and you'll be able to plug it into any indoor outlet for portable remote control of your home's lights and appliances.

Create Multi-Way Circuits
KeypadLinc allows you to customize your lighting setup no matter how your house is wired. It's simple to create a 3-, 4-, or 5-way circuit. First replace all of the existing switches you want to include in the circuit with either a KeypadLinc, INSTEON SwitchLinc Dimmer, or a INSTEON SwitchLinc Relay (Non-Dimmable). The main controller must be connected to the standard wires, load, line, neutral, and ground. The secondary switches only need to be connected to line, neutral, and ground. No traveler wires are needed, so it is easy to place one of the switches wherever you need it. Cross-linking all of the companion switches to the master switch is the last step in the process.

Compatibility
INSTEON 6 Button Keypad Controller with On/Off Switch is fully INSTEON-compatible and X10 ready. Homeowners with existing X10 networks can easily migrate to an INSTEON network without having to discard all their existing X10 devices. The KeypadLinc can respond to X10 commands from an X10 controller, and it can send X10 commands to X10 devices. Please note that INSTEON devices repeat INSTEON signals but not X10.

Slim Design
Similar keypads are much deeper than KeypadLinc. Thanks to its slim design, it makes installation easy, even in small junction boxes.

Non-Volatile Memory
All KeypadLinc settings are stored in non-volatile memory and are not lost during power failures. Additionally, in the event of a power loss, the KeypadLinc will return to its last on/off state when power is restored.

"This is very good device that solves the problem of controlling multiple electrical items in one room. A typical home has a single switch for controlling switched outlets, so that when you throw the switch, all attached lights are turned on or off. With the 6 button controller, and with Insteon switched outlets, dimmer modules, or appliance modules, you can control individual devices from one point. You can use the 8-button switch instead of 6 if there are many things to control.
