No Electricity or Batteries Needed
Unlike other combination locks or keyless entry systems, this one is 100% mechanical, requiring absolutely no batteries or AC current. You won't have to worry about being locked out in the event of a power failure or if the batteries die. It also simplifies installation, since you won't have to run power wires to the door area.
Totally Customizable for Your Needs
You set the code yourself. All you have to do is reposition the tumblers. You can even change the number of digits by adding one of the two included spare tumblers, or removing one of the factory-installed tumblers. Codes can be anywhere from 2-8 digits. For the highest degree of security, we recommend codes in the 6- or 7-digit range, which has the most possible combinations. It can also be mounted for right- or left-handed operation as required by the position of the door hinges.
Includes Everything You Need for Installation
The Mechanical Digital Entry Lock includes a spring-loaded spindle, latch, strike plate, 4 wood screws, latch support post, tweezers (for changing the code), fixing bolts, two spare code tumblers, a code card and two standard keys. Unit comes with a satin chrome finish.
Dimensions
Mounting plates measure 6 1/2" (H) x 2 1/2" (W). Unit extends 2 1/8" from the inside of the door and 2 3/8" from the outside of the door. Unit will fit doors from 1 3/8" to 2 9/16" thick. The backset* measurement is 2 3/4". To determine the backset, measure the horizontal distance between the center line of the door knob and the edge of the door. If your backset meaures 2 3/8" use the #5186N38 model.
