Who says protecting your home or business with a local or Web-viewable surveillance system requires buying a bunch of dedicated, specialized equipment? With the PCI Video Capture System, you can create a security observation system, complete with digital recording and remote monitoring, using the desktop PC computer you already own! Just add up to four standard, off-the-shelf color or black & white security cameras, and you'll be able to see what's happening in four distinct areas of your home or business, whether you're across the hall, or across the country!

The system displays up to four camera locations directly on your computer screen, in REAL TIME, without the slight delay found with other products on the market. You can add date, time and a specific camera name to the picture (i.e. "baby's room," "front door," etc.). You'll even be able to see the quad-screen display on any remote computer equipped with the included software and access to the Internet - perfect for checking up on the baby and babysitter from your office, so you don't have to wait to get home to see that everything is okay. This feature requires an always-on broadband Internet connection, like DSL or cable modem service. System is compatible with hubs, routers and hardware and software firewalls.

Unlike our similar 7789 four-camera video capture system, you can even set the system to alert you when movement is detected within the camera's field of view. Notification can be in the form of a pre-recorded message sent to any phone, including your cell phone if your computer modem supports TAPI, or a text message to your pager. For example, if the camera in your backyard detects an intruder, the system can call your cell phone and play a message that says, "Motion has been detected in the backyard," or any other message you choose. You can even adjust the system to only send alerts when motion is detected on a specific portion of the screen. For example, if you have a camera facing the front yard, you can be alerted when a car comes up on your driveway, but not every time one drives by on the street. Adjustable sensitivity allows you to maximize security or reduce false alarms due to wind or shadows.

You can also set the system to record at specific days and/or times, in case you want to make sure the gardeners aren't peering into windows or to make sure the cleaning lady isn't raiding the liquor cabinet. You can adjust how much it records (your computer hard drive size is the only limitation), as well as the frames per second and the amount of compression or quality level.

System includes the Four-Port PCI Video Capture Card, application software and a multi-lingual owner's manual (English/Spanish/French). The PCI card must be installed in a Pentium II or better PC, with a 350MHz or faster processor, 64MB of RAM, Windows� 98/ME, a 14 bit or higher VGA card, an 800 x 600 high color display, a 33,600 bps or faster voice modem, an 8-bit or higher PCI sound card and a CD-ROM drive.
