    Full Macro Support
The Smarthome Slimline Remote offers full macro support, so you can turn ALL your A/V equipment on or off with a single touch. Plus its automatic backlit touchscreen makes it easy to use, even in total darkness. And because it learns new functions from virtually any IR remote, it will never become obsolete, even if you buy new equipment later.

Buttons Change According to the Device You're Controlling
The Smarthome Slimline Remote offers eight pre-defined, customizable button layouts for TVs, satellite receivers, VCRs, DVD players, amplifiers, cassette players, CD players and an auxiliary device. Just press the device you want to control, and the LCD screen will change the labels on the 21-button touchscreen panel to suit the device. For example, the 1, 2, and 3 buttons of a TV or VCR will turn into 'volume up' for rear, center, and subwoofer channels when AMP is selected. An edit function allows you to relocate or remove the keys you don't use.

    Learns Codes From Existing Remotes
Teaching the Touchscreen Remote codes from your existing remotes is easy! Simply put the unit in the learning mode by pressing the LEARN button, hold down the key to be programmed and point your existing remote at the bottom of the Smarthome Slimline Remote. A beep confirms that the signal is stored.

    One-Button Control
The Macro function offers a quick one-button solution to controlling complex combinations of A/V equipment. Now you can tell your family, "Press this button to watch a DVD," and the macro can turn on the DVD player, TV and receiver, switch the TV to the VIDEO 1 input, switch the receiver to DVD and press the DVD "play" button. Each macro sequence can be up to 25 commands long!

You Won't Lose the Memory When Changing Batteries
Requires 4 AAA batteries (sold separately), which last about 6 months on average (varies depending on how long the adjustable backlighting delay is set for - i.e. 10, 20 or 30 seconds after the last command was pressed). A low-battery icon lights up when it's time to change them. A separate backup battery prevents memory loss between battery changes.

With 16 channels to control this remote unit is very inconvenient since it only has 8 channels. Very clumsy to use. Not a good design. Maybe that's why it's on sale!
    GLENN -- taylorsville, UT   12/8/2010
It works great when I use the remote control which I had to buy separately.

Works great! I purchased the console so I could control lighting with my Harmony 880 IR remote. Now I am able to control all my AV equipment and room lighting with a single remote.

Great solution for using my universal remote for controlling my lamps. But it "hangs" sometimes.

Worked perfectly with my Universal Remote Control MX-980 to switch X10 20A duplex receptacles.
RICHARD -- los angeles, CA   7/24/2008
Bought this with a few the Powerhouse X10 Lamp Modules and both were basically plug and play. It took only minutes to set up. I recommend highly. I'm controlling the Command Console with the Logitec Harmony One Universal remote, so all the lighting in my living room can be controlled from the universal remote. I'm very pleased-- Excellent!
THOMAS -- flowery branch, GA   6/6/2008
It only does 8 modules, otherwise OK.
HARVEY -- new york, NY   4/27/2008
Easy to use out of the box - everything it's supposed to be..
    BILLY -- kingsport, TN   4/17/2008
I'm somewhat satisfied with the command console. I'm VERY satisfied with the way your support personal tried to be of help. It turned out that the problem was that the x10 remote was shipped with the wrong manual and I was able to download the correct one from the x10 website. There is one problem. I can turn the lights on or off with the IRX10 Command Console, but have to wait for a few minutes before it will respond as to dimming or brightening. I haven't figured out why that is. The X10 people told me that they could not answer to the insteon light controlers, as they are not the manufacturer.
