    Emergency Light
    The emergency light turns on automatically during a power failure. The included rechargeable battery adds 8 hours of backup light. Flashlight includes an adjustable focus to concentrate the light where you need it most and the white LED has a guaranteed life of 100,000 hours so there is no need for replacement bulbs.

    Automatic On/Off Sensor
    A built-in sensor automatically turns the light on at dusk and off at dawn.

    Purchased two more of these lights after having had two for more than a year. The new lights have thinner walls on the white cases, and the nightlight passes through the sides. Not a big deal, but they just seem a bit "cheaper" than the original two. Those did not allow any light to pass through the case. Also, the red power LED is much brighter and the light sensor doesn't seem to be as sensitive. This makes the nightlight stay on slightly even during the day. I've put the originals in the same location and they go completely off with the same ambient light level. In conclusion, the lights do what I want: provide light at night and a back-up light source for those unexpected power losses. Wish I could find more of the older style.

    I have compared this unit with other similar products and I like this one the best. Pros: Bright emergency/night light. Either flashlight or night light can be selected for Dusk to Dawn or can be off. Emergency function turns on selected light full brightness. Covers only one outlet. Cons: Polarized plug only plugs in one direction. Flashlight could be brighter but is ok. May be too bright as nightlight in some applications (much brighter then glow nightlights).

    Purchased a few for both my home and for my mother of 93 who still lives by herself. They provide an excellent night light and an accessible flashlight with a visible location in case of a power outage. Currently have 6 in my home and 4 at my mother's location. Highly recommend for any home. Wish I had known about the 3-in-1 Nightlight/Emergency Flashlight years ago.

    I had wanted an emergency light that would go on in power failure, not a nightlight that stays on during a power failure. I don't want the night light feature except in power failure and don't seem to have a choice with this one. Additionally, it is less powerful than I had expected.

    The night light feature of the item I bought stinks. It barely lights up the area around it. As for the emergency back up light feature, I cannot tell you how effective this is because the power would have to go out for me to see how well it works. So far the power has yet to go out.

    these lights work great! they sense changes in sunlight and automatically adjust "nightlight" brightness, plus they last long enough during power outages that you almost dont even need flashlights anymore, if you place them adequtely
