Activehome Software Update Problem: The X10 Activehome program incorrectly stores timer data in the CM-11a or CK-11a Interface device, preventing timers and routines from starting on all dates after Jan 1, 2000. Resolution steps: 1. Exit the Activehome program, if it is currently running on your PC. 2. Download the file y2k.zip to a temporary directory on your computer. 3. Unzip the downloaded file with your favorite unzipping program. If you don't have an unzipping program, one is available at www.winzip.com. The unzipping program, like WinZip, will need to be installed prior to unzippping the downloaded patch file. When the downloaded file is unzipped, you will be left with one file that can be started by your computer, Y2K.EXE 4. Run the self-extracting executable program Y2K.exe: By either double clicking on it, or by choosing Start -> Run, and clicking on "Browse", to locate the directory where the file was unzipped into. Select "OPEN", highlight the file "Y2K.exe, and select "OPEN". Select "OK", to run the extraction program. 5. Be sure the directory specified in the "Extract To" window is the same as the Activehome program is installed into. The default installation directory is C:\Program Files\Home Control. Click on "Extract" to start the extraction process. 6. Three files will be extracted, X10PREF.DLL, X10DNLD.DLL, Y2K.PDF If you are prompted whether or not to replace existing files, choose "Yes" for each file. 7. Restart the Activehome software. Click on the "Tools" pull-down menu item Select "Download Timers and Macros" All the existing macros and timers will be resent to the interface module with the correct timer information. A few more suggestions for running the Activehome program. Set the clock of the interface after downloading. Click on the "Configuration" pull-down menu Click on the line, "Set Interface Clock" Click on the "SET" button to synchronize the interfaces clock to the computer. It's also a good idea to disconnect the serial download cable at the interface when the program is not running on the computer. Some users have reported that the clock in the interface can behave strangely when the computer is off and the interface is plugged in and running timer events.
