Business & Financial Analysis Intern

Through our three divisions we retail over 5,000 products (www.smarthome.com), manufacture a wide range of remote control lighting products, and develop cutting edge technologies like INSTEON (www.insteon.net). Uses for our products include remote control lighting, whole-house automation, security and surveillance, home entertainment, and pet care.
Job Description:
We are looking for a top-notch, talented and motivated analytical person to support our Sr. Business Analyst and Business Intelligence Manager. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist in making strategic business recommendations by doing in depth quantitative analysis and research
Perform analysis to ensure the validity of data used by other members of the organization
Demonstrate an excellence towards problem identification, comprehension, and resolution
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reporting packages to communicate performance results versus expected behavior in a clear and concise manner
Develop, distribute, and support custom reporting tools
Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of customer, market and financial data, business processes, operating models and business requirements
Qualifications:
You must have intermediate to advanced skills in using Excel. The less you use a mouse, the better.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Detail oriented
Handle multiple project assignments simultaneously
Undergraduate students with technical degrees (Computer Science, Math, Business, etc) who have completed at least 2 years of coursework may apply
MBA's students with emphasis on finance, accounting, and statistics may apply
Ability to write ad-hoc SQL queries, preferred
