Website Marketing/Design Intern
SMARTHOME is the world's leader in home automation and approaching our 16th birthday. Through our three divisions we retail over 5,000 products (www.smarthome.com), manufacture a wide range of remote control lighting products, and develop cutting edge technologies like INSTEON (www.insteon.net). Uses for our products include remote control lighting, whole-house automation, security and surveillance, home entertainment, and pet care.
Position Summary
The Web Marketing/Design Intern's primary responsibility is to assist the Graphics Team in creating banners, landing pages, as well as assisting photography with video and photo editing and other web related projects. In addition, the intern will support the Marketing Team in a variety of projects that will increase his/her skills and efficiency in a professional work environment, as well as take on added responsibilities as both need and skills permit. This ongoing internship requires approximately 30 hours per week of your time at this time.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the conceptualization and development of: banners and online ad campaigns
- Assist graphics department with graphic editing and creating diagrams/charts/other online marketing materials
- Assist in other projects as needed
Job Requirements
- Have a good eye for design (what looks good)
- Familiarity with basic business applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Flexible, and willing to change gears and pick up new tasks on an as-needed basis
Technical Skills Required
- Photoshop
- Dreamweaver
- Illustrator
- Quark or InDesign
- Knowledge of Flash, Video Editing a plus
