Rob Enderle Named Keynote Speaker for
Inaugural INSTEON Development and Technology Conference
President and Principal Analyst with Enderle Group Addresses
How to Build a Perfect Storm for Home Automation
IRVINE, Calif. – April 12, 2006 – The INSTEON™ Alliance announced today that Rob
Enderle, president and principal analyst with Enderle Group, will deliver a keynote
address for its inaugural INSTEON Development and Technology Conference May 2,
2006 at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
Enderle, who has helped companies like Microsoft, HP, IBM, Dell, Toshiba, AMD, Intel,
AMD, Philips, Sony and Texas Instruments anticipate technology changes, in his keynote
speech will address how companies can build the perfect storm for home automation.
“The technology advances in home automation are driving price, ease of use and
compelling consumer applications that will push home automation over the tipping point
to broad market adoption,” says Enderle. “I will address the why behind home
automation’s relatively slow market adoption and point out how, with a little help,
technology companies and consumer electronics manufacturer can move the market to
broad adoption.”
The Enderle Group is a forward looking emerging technology advisory firm. With over
25 years experience, it has provided regional and global companies with guidance in how
to better target customer needs; create new business opportunities,; anticipate technology
changes; select vendors and products; and present their products in the best possible light.
Before founding Enderle Group, Rob was the senior research fellow for Forrester
Research and the Giga Information Group before that he was with Dataguest where he
became one of the most widely publicized technology analysts in the world.
The INSTEON Alliance consists of more than 700 member companies and developers
that are implementing the INSTEON wireless home control technology that leverages the
powerline to offer the most cost effective, reliable and simple-to-use platform for
consumer electronics products. INSTEON technology is the award-winning home control
networking technology created by SmartLabs.
“We are on the threshold of mass market adoption of home automation,” says Rajeev
Kapur, president of SmartLabs. “We decided early on that for home control to reach the
mass market, INSTEON needed to be based on a technology that made it reliable,
affordable and simple to use. The time is right for developers, OEMs and technology
companies knocking on the door of the digital home to pick the technology optimized for
the home and the home owner.”
Decision makers evaluating home control and the future of the connected home are
invited to attend the INSTEON Development and Technology Conference to be held in
conjunction with Parks Associates CONNECTIONS™ the Digital Home Conference
May 2-4 in Santa Clara, Calif.
