If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, simply return it within 30 days, and we'll replace it or refund the cost of the item (excluding shipping fees). All items must be returned in their original condition. Defective items returned within the manufacturer's warranty period (or within 12 months if there is no manufacturer warranty) will be replaced at no cost to you - we pay for shipping expenses on defective item returns in the case of replacing a defective item. Products no longer part of our current product line will have to be returned to the original manufacturer for warranty replacement. *Please note exceptions below.

To Return An Item, Please Follow These Steps
1. Contact Customer Service at 1.800.762.7846 Monday - Friday 9am - 8pm and Saturday 11am - 7pm (all times ET) or email us at rma@smarthome.com to receive an RMA Number (Return Authorization Number). Note: All returns must have an RMA. Items returned without an RMA number may be refused and returned to the sender.
2. Write the RMA on the outside of the package & include a copy of your invoice.
3. Ship returns with a tracking number (recommended for your protection).

Please note:
1. Clearance, Open Box, Special-Order and Direct Ship items are not eligible for return unless defective and must be returned within 30 days to receive merchandise credit.
2. All books are final sales, no returns.
3. Tools, software, and videotapes may only be returned if unopened within 30 days.
4. Smarthome is unable to accept returns of Sony products; all returns of Sony products must be shipped directly to Sony.
5. Credit card purchases will be refunded to the original purchaser's card. Purchases made with checks, cash, or money orders will be refunded by check. Please allow two weeks for processing. Smarthome is not responsible for returns lost or damaged in shipment.
International Returns
Although Smarthome fully supports manufacturers' warranties, our return guarantee does not include freight charges for international returns. If for any reason you choose to return a product from outside the United States, international shipping charges must be pre-paid.
Extended Warranties
Protect your investment by adding an extended warranty. Extended warranties of up to 7 years are available for certain Smarthome and third-party products. To purchase an extended warranty, simply add the warranty to your shopping basket from the product page.
Why Purchase an Extended Warranty? The cost of an extended warranty is only a fraction of the actual product cost, and extending the warranty length will help you to rest easier, knowing that components and accessories won't need to be replaced every year.
What's Covered by the Extended Warranty? Please see the original manufacturer's warranty (available on most product pages) for specific details on covered material and workmanship defects as well as limitations on warranties. Certain products will need to be returned directly to the manufacturer rather than to Smarthome; the original warranty will instruct how and where to return the product for repair or replacement.
